Managing Organisational Change

60 – 90 minute Presentation

William Briggs's framework on the management of organisational change proposes two major components to change.  The first is the mechanics of change which is expressed in the time lines, project management spread sheets, resources needed, cash flows and so on.  The second is the dynamics of change which involves the relationships between people, the level of trust and respect and the authenticity of the communication channels.  Managing the first component is relatively easy.  The second is more difficult.  For example, trust and respect need to be built well before the ‘change’ is scheduled to occur.  They need to be maintained and further developed after the event.  Sadly, in most cases, trust and respect are abandoned early.

The presentation will address some of the ways to better manage the dynamics of change.  We will focus first on your own abilities to change or influence others before developing insights on how to change systems.
